For a chain drive for some equipment like a saw? I'm sure I've seen picture of them being used jacked up to drive things, but can't remember how it was done.

I've seen pictures of that type of thing too, but this is the front wheel.

Speedometer drive is probably correct.

You wouldn't want a speeding ticket when cruising down the motorway in your Ford lorry...

Is there a better looking car than this, and the soft-top version is every bit as nice as the saloon. It's one of the last Alvis road cars: i think it's the TF21. Subsequently they concentrated on armoured vehicles like Scorpion tanks, having already made the 6 wheel armoured Saracen and Saladin as well as the amphibious Stalwart amphibious truck

It's a car very much on my shopping list. Straight six nearly 3 litre engine, albeit pushrod rather than the contemporary Jag's XK twin cam, proper coachbuilt luxury with wood and leather, and reasonably priced, for the hard top one anyway

Years ago a garage near where I lived resprayed an Alvis, and the salesman encouraged me to buy it. I don't know why - maybe he thought I was loaded (not) or maybe gullible (not)? One look confirmed although it looked good on top, there was rust literally dripping off the underside!
