...but less than 180bhp. How times have changed.

22.9 flying lap/102MPH
In its own way, that's even more impressive than Mark Higgins (2016 Subaru Impreza) 17.35/128.7MPH lap, given the (essentially) standard vehicle that Pond drove (barring tyres, race-seat, roll-cage)

Re; Higgins, does anyone else remember the excitement created when John McGuiness posted the first 130MPH lap (at 17:31) so to get close in a car............
(even allowing for later/better braking)

According to DVLA its SORN'd 820.
We had them at work, nice looking car, comfortable, very spacious cabin, great visibility as I remember BUT, the 2 ltr engine was too small (imho) and it was stodgy...and accordingly quite heavy on petrol.

The R series wasnt a good 2 litre, but the T was a stoater, especially in later full fat 200 turbo form. Initial versions, IIRC, were cropped to about 170 ponies to avoid embarrassing the V6 models, but later ones got the full serving.

A G plate Citroen BX spotted on my morning ride.
It looked in very good condition and I would say regular use .

Spotted either another BX today or the same one just in a different location?

A Panther Kallista. Believe it or not a real car, not a kit, though a lawnmower engine powered airfix kit built in Accy's shed using only a rolling pin and cricket bat would turn out better.

Used to lust after a Solo 1 but the owner of Panther lost his nerve after driving an MR2 and canned it.
The Solo 2 had some neat touches but hasn't aged well.

Saturday 1st

I drove to work this afternoon
Walking back up through the patient car-park, to the staff one, l saw this

Very original!! (even down to the 'traffic-light' air freshener!)

They might not be speed-rated tyres, but I'm not certain about Toyo tyres?

Edit; Sunday 2nd @ 11:55
I quite like the idea of a Cosworth (4x4) estate
Someone must have built one over the years?
