Mk3 Escago looks good though.
The ‘Escargo’ was a wonderful adaptation of the coil spring Landies

Is that Weston Underwood? I think I've seen those parked up but memory is hazy.

Theres a Sherpamon a driveway down the hill from me in Wooton, V reg. It looks solid enough from,50 feet away but never moves.

Yes just after the church sometimes there's an early land rover on the drive.

I drove a couple of Sherpas around Cyprus and Lebanon in the 80's they never missed a beat and got well abused

Aye, they were tough old boots. Engineered on a severely tight budget, but surprisingly capable for all that.

Drops side looks like an early one, the other a later one.
We had the early type when they first came out for a works van. Personally I didnt like them, narrow drivers cab felt claustrophobic, ours wasnt very powerful, gearing was too high so no top end speed...but that may be the spec chosen was incorrect for the use. As a city van it may have been good but on an open road, just no legs in it. This is possible because I once hired a Transit minibus and the gearing was perfect for motorway driving, lovely and smooth. Clearly it was the right spec doing the right job.
(Im reminded we had Transits before and went back to Transits after it)
