The offence is propelling the vehicle so that's not the reason. If you get out and push a car across a stop line, that's still an offence. I'm sure we've discussed this recently.

But I agree and think there's no offence if you walk on the footway.

And yes. yes you absolutely should follow the law! even if you don't think it's right!
That is the way of our country. We are a nation of laws.

If you don't agree with a law then petition to get it changed. Alas, meanwhile. Follow it!

What happens when the government makes such petitioning illegal? I consider it a democratic duty to break unjust laws.

I'm not saying this necessarily applies to RLJing... I think we should follow traffic laws because the roads are shared spaces so it's safer and easier if everybody is following the same conventions, but that's different from just following them because 'it's the law'.
