One leg longer than the other..

..my left lower leg is about 5mm longer than my right. It is noticable when I sit down with knees together (not that I do that very often of course).

I don't think this used to be the case. I have had a dodgy knee for some time now (long leg knee!) though, maybe this is linked?

Is this normal? Should I be worried?

If it's not giving you any pain then I shouldn't worry about it, but keep an eye on it and if the difference in length increases then get some professional medical advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too have a leg length diff (about 1cm), due to a childhood accident, and suffer with a sore knee.

I had orthotics made and that improved, but didn't cure the problem. I also found some benefit in using spd pedals with the springs set as loose as possible to maximise float.

I am convinced that the lack of symmetry impacts on the knees.
