I have a massive mistrust of vaping, purely from anecdotal knowledge of one person. My neighbour used to smoke a bit but then switch to vaping. Within 2 years she had severs COPD down to ⅓ lung function and now can hardly move around the house, has emergency bottles of oxygen and on several occasions has had ambulances attending.
It might be relatively harmless (but not without risk). Or it might not. I don't think there's any evidence YET that it's a health crisis in the making. But we don't have the long term data.
Yet.
Particularly as the longer we wait the more people will adopt the habit and those already damaging themselves will make that damage worse.Scientists have spent more than a century studying the health effects of smoking. Although e-cigarettes are much newer, exposure to nicotine containing aerosols has already been associated with addiction, poisoning, inhalation injuries, and burns.

A major new review warns that vaping may be causing cancer already—and scientists say we shouldn't wait decades to act.

It seems that in deciding where to start searching for the cause(s), we're spoilt for choice.
And without accusing any companies of anything but these days very easy for a company to declare massive shareholder dividends and Phoenixing.I would also be wary of the very same tobacco companies who denied the harms of cigarettes for years. Guess who is behind vapes, no surprises.
