I see nothing wrong with the idea that baked beans and tomato soup being classed as one of you five a day, they've no doubt got a little too much additives compared with fresh fruit...but, what really gets my goat is foodstuffs that claim benefits that are ridiculous, like Nutella...TWO WHOLE HAZELNUTS IN EVERY PORTION  as the advert goes.
No doubt it has, but the proportion of calories in it are very high. Something like 30% is fat, 40% is sugar. 280 calories of your recommended daily input in one (probably small) serving.

Nothing wrong with Nutella (although i don't eat it), but to claim healthy benefits without telling us the the negatives far outweigh the benefits is wrong IMO.

And don't get me going on chocolate covered breakfast cereals  What chance have kids got !!!

I've always pictured it in my head in the same way that Diet Cola is a diet product - its a diet product only as part of more balanced nutrition, not if you carry on eating Cheeseburgers and salty fries.

A can of Baked Beans is part of your five a day if you also eat some fresh fruit and veg. It probably doesn't count (as much) if your other four are also processed food.

Can anyone explain why diet cola gets such a bad press? It contains virtually no food-based nutrients except some flavouring, so apart from the aspartame which gets mixed press, it is, after all, only flavoured fizzy water with a bit of caffeine in it. . . I drink only Pepsi Max, or Diet Coke, simply because I cannot stand the taste of full-sugar versions. I don't associate it with MacDonalds or whatever but then I don't tend to buy or eat fastfood burgers etc, nor does my family.

To my limited understanding of nutrition, it is virtually harmless, and far better for you than the full sugar versions which load hundreds of calories, and disgusting and possibly harmful carb levels into your system with no nutritional benefit.

I am seriously considering complaining to Heinz about this advert.

So I'm a wrinkly, crinkly, set in my ways
It's true that my body has seen better days,
But give me half a chance and I can still misbehave
