One year on

One year ago today, at my daughter's instigation, I agreed sign up for the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride to support The Christie Hospital. We got our rusty bikes out and started training a bit on the occasional Sunday. Now, we both cycle to work on most days, and I am 2.5 stones lighter!

A year ago, I thought 25 miles was a long way on a Sunday, now that is my round trip commute.

Oh, and after choosing my Grumpy sobriquet, I actually feel a lot less grumpy nowadays!

Thought about doing the Manchester to Blackpool (this year I'll have been a patient at Christies for 20 years) thought it would be next to impossible, but last weekend I did my first 30 mile sportive, so I hope I'll be good for July.

Plus my dad delivers barms to a few chippy's around there.

Well done buddy,might be doing Manc/Blackpool this on top of the CC ride next weekend.What bike/colour gear do you ride down Manchester road ? I will keep an eye out if i'm running late out of work. I'll be on the black hybrid with panniers going towards my favorite place...Moses Gate !
