Ooph it was really windy to night I found my self pedalling hard down a hill I'm normally freewheeling 23mph+ on the hybrid; tonight It felt like I was doing less than 10 (somebody in the bike cage at work burst my speedo ) into a sleety gale, it left me open to impatient manoeuvres like this.

I thought you were gonna start going backwards at one point

It certainly was very windy tonight. It was hard work! I kept telling myself it was good training for the weekend CC ride!

Took 30% longer today.
Got in the house feeling proper windswept and very dizzy. Took me a couple of minutes to recover.
Oh and it's freezing cold now too.

My commute home starts with a very steep hill ( after a commute to work and 10-15 miles on my feet at work) Tonight with the wind it felt like a near death experience ! Have you ever asked your self the question why is the wind always against you both to and from work! even if you change jobs and end up going the opposite way day and night it's still against me or am I just paranoid ?

Went out for a spin yesterday and it was windy than usual. Still averaged 15.8mph rather than 16-17. It's just a short route.

Looking nice and cold and very windy on Metcheck for this weekend's CC Central Scotland ride, so that spot of wind training will be paying off for HlaB and Magnatom !!

Fortunately I don't cycle on a Monday (I bring in a large bag of clothes and towels for my Tues - Fri cycle commutes). It was supposed to be pretty blowy this morning too, but it wasn't so I had a pleasant (if a little chilly) ride in.

Yep, I set a personal best ave speed on the way into work (15.7mph over 9 miles), but suffered a 12.2mph on the way back - I even modified my route to take in more built-up streets to shield me from the wind.

On the plus side, my legs ache a lot less this morning, for some reason - possibly my saddle-raising regime is starting to have some effect.

The Met Office has forecast heavy rain and 33mph winds for me on the way home today. Hopefully they are lying again, although there is a very ominous black cloud heading in this direction.
