Does anyone keep their bikes outwith the garage ? I’m trying to free up some space to set up turbo etc…but there are too many bikes in the way - kids, wife and then there’s my 3…..has anyone built or bought a stand alone shed type unit in their back yard ?

Checkout Asgard bike sheds.
I have one in my garden. They are pricey but you do get what you pay for. They are built tough. A determined scrote will get in after a while, but it will need some serious tools, a whole lot of hard work whilst making a heck lot of noise in the process.

I bought the Asgard bike storage shed. It was extremely well thought out and being made of metal extremely secure. I erected it in one day and it stored all our cycles and garden tools. Expensive yes but it’s very secure and you could lock a motorcycle in it after a bit of two and frowing.
ps. When I got our garage sorted out I sold it, very easily, for about what I paid for it. They aren’t cheap.

I' ve got a 10 yrear old single ended Asgard one that is baseless. Can get condensation inside so have a desiccant dehumidifier in it with the road bike on one side of the dehumidifier facing the rear on a ramped platform over the outlet pipe and the ebike backed in on the other side.

I've got a Keter shed.
Big plastic panels that you put together yourself.
Good head height, so bikes are upright on floor stands.
Works well once you get used to stands

Just ordered an asgard shed today. Due to “increased demand“ they are currently stating 6 to 7 weeks for delivery.
Better than during later parts of lockdown, they were quoting months. Ended up cancelling that order when I found the shed I was interested in could only have a door hinged on the left and no on the right as I would have wanted.

Impressed with Asgard’s customer service so far. They have kept me updated on order progress and asked about access for delivery. They have just got back to me acknowledging that they will deliver on a smaller vehicle (likely a Luton van) due to access.

Which shed have you gone for?
Once delivered, put aside a day for putting it together. It's not a quick process. Make sure you have an electric screwdriver as there so many screws to put the thing together and you may need help from a.n.other to put help put the roof on.

Thanks.

The listing refers to it as Asgard Access Plus Double Door.with dimensions of 8foot by 4 foot.

I managed to get the single ended floorless flat roof one together on my own being supervised from the other side of the fence by a neighbours kitten. That was until I dropped the roof on with a loud bang and one kitten exceeding its previous fastest speed.

To balance against the other comments.

I built my centurion singlehandedly in a morning with nothing more than hand tools.

I'm reasonably handy and had built a concrete base a few weeks earlier.

As others said it gets a bit full of condensation in winter, absolutely dripping is my description. But no harm done. I just leave it because I feel sticking the dehumidifier in there would be akin to trying to dehumidify the world. With the vents and draughts and me opening the door.
