Downstairs in Gaynor Sports in Ambleside has end of line discounts. There's also a couple of other small shops in town selling off stuff.

They never have stuff for 6ft blokes / 32 waist / size 8 feet, etc

What Tim said. If you can get to Ambelside, you really don't need to go anywhere else. It's good stuff too. Berghaus Goretex for instance at lower prices than the Gore or Berghaus employees get at staff discount! It's last year's stock, maybe, but if you aren't a cat-walk model, then that shouldn't be a problem.

...but they're all in the North West.

Boundary Mill is a walk from our house....but it's a walk I never make! What a horrible place that is. Populated with coaches full of sour-faced old biddies and people that think the best place to stop and stand still is at the top or bottom of an escalator. The so-called "bargains" in there are no bargains at all and every single item I've ever purchased from there (when it was the previous store about 300 yards away from the new one) fell to bits. The other problem is it's an ugly, cheap, tin building that intrudes into your vision from the top of Pendle Hill. If I had my way, I'd encourage RAF bombers to practice on it.

Massons Mill in Derbyshire is exactly the same - please include it in the RAF's route.

My recent purchase of an Austin Reed and a Daniel Hechter suit from Boundary for £300 seemed like a good deal and I dont think they will fall apart!

Mine was a Daniel Hechter suit and believe me, it did fall apart. Rather embarrassingly, it did so in the crotch area while I was not in a position to change it and I felt "draughty" all day!

What position were you in, Paul? Not bending over a blind lady on the top of some hill helpfully pushing her all the way home?

TKMaxx!

I have bought an Adidas Goretex paclite jacket for £25 and the matching Fleece for £15!

They often have Goretex jackets at the £30 - 40 mark.
