It works though, done it many times when funds are low. Thanks! That's what I though and that's what i usually do. I've just always wondered...![]()
Likewise but with old style rubber and solution. It works though, done it many times when funds are low.
Sorry I maybe should have pointed out thats all I use.Likewise but with old style rubber and solution.
Nowadays with glueless ones in my repair kit I dunno if I'd try overlaps
I've only got patches, not cut-to-size, and none of them were big enough.Take the patch off and re-patch the three holes with one new patch.
Might be worth a tryOk, can you re-patch it it with the two patched covering all three holes but not overlapping?
I have never had a problem.Ok, can you re-patch it it with the two patched covering all three holes but not overlapping?
Test it before hand. Heck I have ridden thousands of miles on patched tubes and only ever had one patch fail in 22,000 miles and that wasn't straight away.and find it immediately fails on you.
I was joking!Or more bother than it is worth.
Lucky you (probably helped by your excellent patching technique). My counsel was:I have ridden thousands of miles on patched tubes and only ever had one patch fail in 22,000 miles.
+1more bother than it is worth
It worries me not whether its patched or not (and yes I have had overlapping, and as many as 7 or 8 patches) nor the distance I do, I think you can appreciate that 22,000 miles over 4 years covers a little more than riding round the block. For the record a new tube could easily be leaking had one or two of those over the years, though it does tend to be very small if its happened."would I take this patched tube as a spare if I had a 'new' one to take?"
