my DMRpedals rip up overshoes rapidly so I try to only wear them when absolutely needed.

One of the good things with flat pedals is the unlimited variety of shoes you can wear, What about some fur lined boots with thick socks?

If riding pedals with pins they will tear through overshoes. I ride with SPD's and have sworn by overshoes for years, but if you need to be walking/running then it's Winter boots. Bloody great. But there don't seam to be Winter boots that are flat pedal compatible. My Shimano MW7's are SPD shoes, there won't be any grip on a flat pedal as all the tread is on the outside. Great for my SPD's and running, but would be a mare on flats.

I use overshoes with flat pedal and pins.

I use BBB ones, they quickly wear out (I probably get two winters out of them) and you do catch them on the pins every now and again when they are first new, it is normally the toe bit that catches not the strap across the bottom of the foot in my experience.
2 years ? About 3-4x for the average keen cyclist then :okay:
