And you cannot ride on roads that display this sign (as some A roads do):

My bike dosnt look like that at all so I must be ok lol. It is a funny subject. I read up on road laws the other week because I wanted to know if I can cycle 30+ in a 20? Answer yeah you could do a 120 if it was possible. The only thing you can get done with is cycling dangerously and at that it would never stand in court due to mass + weight in braking as well as what type of brakes you have fitted maintenance log and the size of your wheels road conditions well the list goes on and on. If you ask my opinion I was cycling at around 25 mph on my way back into town when a 33 ton lorry couldn't wait to get past me. I felt alittle scared if I'm honest so I showed him the international sign for have a nice day. Only for me to come across him a mile down the road backed up in traffic. I had my front light on strob as I gently filtered down the left hand side of traffic. Up a head was my pal the lorry driver who after seeing me in his mirror moved his I tire lorry closer to the kerb. So I couldn't pass. The driver behind wound his window down and shouted to cross I front of him (the road was clear) so I powered down the right hand side and off Ito the distance.

so really just take care and think of your manoeuvre. It's all about you getting home in the end
