When I were a lad (many moons ago) commuting in that there London, I called it Moosing. I would try and guess when I was within 10 pedal turns of the overtake. If I made the overtake in the 10 turns I would scream MOOSE as I went past. Sad I know but it made me happy and gave some impetus to the ride
The flip side of this is that this morning I was overtaken by a teenage girl riding one handed and chatting into her mobile in the other hand! Was I bitter, damm right I was and if I could of caught her up I would of told her exactly what I thought!
Passing a whole group of the lycra and carbon mob as they all had to get of and push on a very steep hill which drags on for about 4 miles was definitely the highlight of my cycling career so far.
The looks on their faces as a fat lump in jeans on an old high-ten touring bike with panniers and saddle bag passed them spinning away like a loon in a 36/32 gear was priceless taught me the importance of equipping you bike with correct gear ratios.
