When I was young and rich, I used to get designer glasses from SS and had the anti scratch coating, non-glare coating and all the rest at considerable price. Now I'm middle-aged and poor, I go for the bog standard ones without any coating at all and have noticed bog-all difference

One of the coating my wife had on her last pair made then smear at the slightest touch and almost impossible to clean properly

Wish I could remember which one it was but the new Optician knew immediately so it must be a known thing
