You could always bring a paid friend and a ghetto blaster to the trials and get it all at the same time.

I was a paid volunteer at Porton Down during my army service. When you see the blisters developing on your arms. The money becomes much less important.

I was on the Novavax COVID vaccine trial. That paid expenses but the clinic was only about two miles from where I live so it didn't amount to much.
