I enjoy painting but bounce between thinking it is ok or thinking it's a heap of shite.
I reckon we all do that......really like your work though

Even at infants school,I knew I did not have natural artistic talent, unfortunately my art stayed at 5yr old level
years ago, remember a woman doing a really interesting experiment...she reckoned people were divided into people who stayed at "10 year old drawers" and people who progressed ..the theory was that the people who stayed as 10 year old drawers, didn't look at what they drew, they pretty much be like "oh I need to draw a chair, I know what a chair looks like" and look at the page they were drawing at, and hardly ever at the chair.....
So she got people copying pictures, but the picture was turned upside down, so you really had to look at the picture, she'd also get people to draw their hand, but instruct them not to look at the paper....
the results....people improved instantly....
that aside, pictures don't have to be life like...John Wilson, draws characters with his left hand, so they deliberately look childish, and he's in some pretty major galleries in the UK...
I've got a really scratchy/sketchy style.....just play to your strengths....I love collage cos most people stop doing it at junior school, so you don't have any self imposed rules of how you're supposed to go about it

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
I've played around with oils a bit both knife and brush but not done anything for few years due to time constraints.
Mistakes are easier to remedy, just scrape off with the knife.
My attitude when I started was just to get a load if cheap canvas boards and dabble away without worrying about technique.
That's is spot on. All the £ shops sell canvases now.
