+1 for sure.... cant wait till my boys are old enough to start doing cool stuff so I can 'chaperone' the bull run was one thing I didnt do.

But I know where your coming from with regards to the protective parent bit.. its really hard to just let them get on with it!

Ask him if he thinks it hurts when he gets a small splinter in his finger!

Or show him this:

Being macho with brown trousers isn't very cool!

But if he wants to talk the talk he has to go for that walk! ;)

It's a rite of passage for travelling Kiwi's and Ozzies but I also read about a crowd diver there several years ago who was pissed/drugged up who ploughed head first into concrete and is now a paraplegic. I'm totally risk averse, so I'd probably say it's up to him, but if he wants to go to Oz or NZ travelling instead I'll pay the difference.

Remind him his travel insurance will probably not cover injuries from the bulls. Have a quiet chat with his mate's parents and see what they know have said to their offspring.
And I thought trying to persuade my 18 yo and his mates that hoiking all their gear to play an unorganised, unauthorised gig in Keynsham on a Friday night was probably not a good idea was difficult!
