I used to collect these as a kid 1970 and 1974 World Cup ! I Spent hours in the playground swapping stickers ,my son is collecting the latest World Cup collection.even though it's a complete rip off,it's quite nice to see him fascinated by something simple and not computer related !

+1 on all of that.

I will add that the design of the new stickers (I don't do them in my 40's) is bobbins compared to the 70's & 80's ones.

Remember getting a GOLD club badge ??

You could swap one of those for 20 standard players.

Used to do the player cards too & win or lose some 'skimming' them up to the wall at school (as close as poss).

Gone are the days.

Shame.

The Liverpool FC gold badge from the 1982 football one was rare as . I got one

Saw the World Cup sticker book in Tesco and got it for my 6 yr old . He loves it.

I've still got the Esso club badge sticker album from the 70s. Probably worth anything up to £1.50 I rec.

Maybe someone should've thought about putting a "please put this wrapper in the bin"sign on the product,as the numpties who buy the things drop the wrappers all over the place!

Friends of ours bough their son the "I Spy" Bicycles book

Then he came round and visited us ...... completing 2/3 of the entries in a couple of hours!

As 7 year olds we didn't have Panini stickers and had to make do with boring Mars Attacks gum cards

I still collect football stickers, mostly 70s and 80s stuff but also Euro and WC albums, amd not just Panini. And Topps football cards from the 70s
