Weird. I am watching Seb Coe giving his speech on the TV whilst I can clearly hear loads of fireworks going off outside. Either the TV feed is delayed significantly from the live event or someone else has decided to let off a serious amounts of fireworks in east London. From what I hear I think we have got some good fireworks on the way!

There's no doubting the quality of the athletics or those that made it happen, but what I do think has been noteworthy, is the quality of the British spectator.

Thanks to Twitter I believe they are either the fireworks from the Thames Festival (near Tower Bridge I think) or Waltham Forest Mela in Leyton. I thought for a moment that Walthamstow had somehow time travelled to the end of the ceremony.

Given the louditude and the wind direction, I think that might be right. Loud though. I've gone outside twice trying to get a clue where it was coming from.

I guess that is it for another four years, an amazing event for both the Olympic and Paralympic games.
