paris to r1?

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I am about to embark on my 3rd bicycle tour, and first time in europe. We land in Paris and want to get to the R1 (calais), but I am having troubles finding recommended routes to this. The r1 being north, I figure many a uk'er, has had to cope with this, any suggestions?

I don't know who wrote it but I'm guessing it's an ex-pat living in Paris. I've traced some of the routes on Bikely and Google earth and they seem to make sense.
