Today I took photos of a vehicle parked on zig-zag road markings stretching from a pedestrian crossing.
Now that I’m at home I have attempted to report the matter and upload relevant photos but I’ve had no success.
I have tried the Essex police website without success, the website says that parking offences should be reported to the local Council.
I’ve searched the council website and there is no option relating to illegal parking.
It is Sunday today so I cannot phone the council to enquire directly.

Wondering if any other cyclist has reported this offence and if so, to whom ?

Essex police are talking out their behinds.

Council deal with "non compliances", eg, double yellows, no waiting, box junctions, etc,

The police still deal with actual offences, and waiting in a crossing zone is very much a 3 point offence. The council cannot issue an endorsable FPN or report the offenders for summons.

Thank you Drago, I may try contacting Essex police on Monday and see if they can assist. As a matter of interest I post here the link to Essex Police in case you or anyone else can fathom out how to report. It is peculiar that from the link, the option takes you on to the heading of reporting antisocial behaviour ! ?

Judging your grammar
We had this very problem with a zebra crossing we and others used regularly, the same person dumped their mobility pod on it daily, despite repeated reports including spelling out the law, the plods refused to do anything except whinge and try to pass the buck, it took a local councillor to get anything done, with a side of threatening legal action if there was an accident.

Thank you Moon bunny, from the link you kindly provided I did manage to find a suitable webpage. I typed in as much detail as necessary and all seemed to be going well…until… it came to submitting the photos that I had taken on my iPhone.
All photos taken on my iPhone are automatically viewable on my iPad and was using my iPad to log my submission. Try as I may, I could not get the photos across to my report. Something about jpeg not being acceptable.
So, having spent quite some time on this matter and getting nowhere I am shelving it for now. There is a 7 day window of opportunity to submit so I might have another go if I feel up to the task, I confess that I am not a wizard when it comes to understanding some electronic / technical things.
Thank you all for your input. 👍

Is it the same for school zigzags?

I believe the yellow zig-zags outside schools have time restrictions which are on a plate close by. Next time I cycle past one of the many nearby schools I will double check.

Yes they do. My daughter's school is no stopping 8-5, and I have been reporting it via Fixmystreet for literally years to no avail, so my interest is whether I should be reporting it elsewhere.

If I stopped to take photos of all the cars parked on zig zags, or crossings, and on pavements I'd never get anywhere.
Pointless painting all the markings on roads if there's no enforcement
