Problem is now..... its no longer run by the nhs, they have sold it to specialist parking firms.
Not in Scotland where nearly all hospital parking is free of charge. Only those tied in by the labour party into long term unbreakable contracts still charge but very few.

What if you can’t remember when you arrived?
As I said..... that was my problem.
The appointment was supposed to be one hour max so I didn't clock the exact time.
So, in your case (and mine) you have 2 choices......pay more to be certain or risk a fine.

Lots of NHS hospitals stopped charging for parking including Warrington , I guess they started again?
 
Why would you pay more than the machine asks for when paying to leave? A much better system than pay and display which is just daft for hospitals! ANPR is great, saves on wasteful tickets too

One curious consequence of German privacy laws is that I think ANPR is technically illegal here.

Not having a car, I have no idea what German car parks use as they are mostly underground and inaccessible without one.
