Original Lepper saddle arrived today for the Pashley. Beautiful condition but I will give it a bit of proof hide before heading out

New gear cable attached, ex RAF surplus bag fitted, time to see if all three gears work !

Looking great, in a battered utility-hack kind of way

Do you have any plans to treat the corrosion? Phospohoric acid and electrolysis are both decent routes IMO, however if you just wanted to arrest its spread I reckon a soft wax smeared on then evened out with a heat gun or torch might do the job without the hassle of having to strip and clean everything..

Thankyou, I’m not going mad on the bodywork, just given it a good clean and then wiped over with wax.

That's good then, the old roadster style bikes are a good ride imho

First big ride today, roughly ten miles of pure joy along the Roe Green Loop Line, Bridgewater Canal and finally the Lancashire Mining Museum. Gears worked nicely and handled the odd slopes without any issues, the sprung saddle and chunky 28” tyres ironed out the rough bits comfortably, it was just a nice experience.
It has the turning circle and braking ability of the Titanic but that’s just part of the fun 😁

Another subtle change. I did not like the factory fit mudguard reflector so I’ve sourced a NOS retro reflector from a company called Bankrupt Bike Parts. This company is fantastic for all your old bike needs
