Past 40, or Just Past It?

Why do hills get steeper with each passing year? What is sarcopenia?
Just two questions which we ageing cyclists have to take into consideration.

Getting older also plays havoc with your memory - you already posted this on 10th November.

Cheers B&Y - LOL

- no flogging one's blog site please - link deleted naughty boy.

And I'm far from past it - grrrrr !
I was 3/4 dead this summer and I'm nearer to 70 than I am to 40 (yikes!) but I'm far from past it too, as will be demonstrated on forum rides in 2013!

You can legitimately 'blog-flog' as a side-effect of making helpful or amusing posts by means of a suitable 'signature link'. Set yours by clicking on your forum name in the menu above, 4th from the right, and then click the signature option.

Proud Daddy
I'm looking forward to 30 years time (if we still ride bikes then) when I can rip young'uns apart with my 30 years of body conditioning.

A guy at work is mid 60s and would tear up anyone around here either on his feet or his bike.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
45 next year and faster and stronger than i was in my 30s , i might not be so quick in a sprint comapred to my youth but how much pain i can take rather than wimping out cos it hurts .

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
I'm 42 and fitter now than I've ever been. Yes, injuries take longer to heal and the knees aren't great, but I've no problem keeping up/going faster than most others ... up and down the hills.

So, no, it's not about age. It's about how you take care of yourself.
