Patrick was always a gentleman.

I remember him more as Derek Warwick's team mate at Renault in 84 / 85

That era was the last era when I followed F1. A great era and some wonderful drivers. Giles Villaneuve was a favourite, but Patrick Tambay, too.

I don't remember him racing as he had retired by the time I started watching F1 in the late 1980s but I am familiar with his name and some of his achievements. R.I.P.
