My back light's had a couple of funny turns recently - switched itself off mid-ride. Thought I'd fixed it, but just to be on the safe side I mounted another directly above and used both. Only when switching off did I notice that the two were running on slightly different blinking cycles - one would do 10 blinks in the time the other did 9. Which meant that they went in and out of sync on a cycle (as it were), between simultaneous and one-blink gap. The combo was curiously compelling ('are they in sync...yes they are....ah, no they're not....they're coming back together now etc etc') Impossible to ignore, I thought. Positively mesmeric. The only danger, I guess, being a driver getting so fixated they lose concentration and steamroller both at once...

You weren't riding with me last night, were you? One of the CTC people was having exactly the same issue...

Just received and fitted my new Smart Lunar R2

Absolutely bonkers on disco mode

The final setting is a pulse mode, where it fades and glows brighter then fades and glows bright again. Awesome, and less than 15 quid at Tredz

Got mine on the seat stay, might get another to even it up, think they were £12.99 somewhere recently.
