Perhaps 1 less BMW driver hates cyclists...

First things first... The title is tongue in cheek...... But...

Today I went out on the Propel to mainly test the wheels that my LBS had just done some work on (very noisy) mainly spokes loose but got them to check hubs as well.., anyway going along a rural road I came across a wallet and a few bank cards scattered around it, I cycled past it pretending to ignore it but got fifty yards past it and thought I've got to go back. Carefully I picked it up and put the banks cards back in it and found the guys address on his driving licence, I knew the road back in Burton on Trent, Nice area of the town. It wasn't the direction I'd got in my head but thought I could do a loop in the opposite direction I'd planned so half an hour later I stopped outside a house to find a bloke on his drive stripping out the contents of his 5 series... clearly looking for something.

I shouted 'Lost Something?'

'Yeah wallet...'

'Could you have lost it on ****** hill? ' whilst waving said wallet....

you're a star mate, 'I must have left it on my roof while I was loading the boot!'

To say he was chuffed was an understatement. So perhaps I've convinced on prestige German car driver to appreciate us...He could of gave me a tenner though!

How much porn streaming did his Amex pay for before you handed it back?

A few years ago I was cycling when an elderly couple in a Rover 75 started to overtake but pulled up alongside me and the lady in the passenger seat opened the window and handed me my mobile phone which had apparently fallen out of my pocket.

To be honest I thought it must have belonged to a cyclist, fell out of jersey pocket... that's the only reason I thought it could of got there... if I'd known it belonged to a BMW owner............

Absolutely fatal to put anything loose on the roof of the car, cost me a phone once. One time I spotted a car pulling out of a petrol station with a briefcase on the roof. Couldn't catch him hopefully someone else flagged him down.

Well done to the OP.

A month ago I came across a perfectly wrapped Birthday present and card in the middle of the road which clearly hadn't been there long . Stood there for a few minutes hoping someone would return . Took it home and on sister suggestion rang Stone hill farm which is near were I found it and do kids parties . A few home calls later and the kid mum is at my door with a very happy 6 year old with a slice of birthday cake for me . They had also put it on the roof while putting the children in the car then drove off

Some years ago I once saw our office digital camera bouncing down the road in my car's rear view mirror... it never worked after that.

Also set off from a site meeting [before computers!] leaving the project file on the roof... got back to the office to receive a phone call from my client letting me know he'd spent half an hour running around trying to collect the cloud of papers that were blown all over his road. Funnily enough the fee agreement disappeared, had I known it at the time... he disputed the fee six months later and wouldn't pay up- so, when I couldn't find my copy he got away with it.
