Carbolite is Peugeots equivalent of Raleigh 18-23 high tensile steel, but Peugeot seemed better at making a lively feeling machine, mixed with a dollop of Gallic flare.
I like mixte frames. Everywhere else they're viewed as unisex machines, but in the UK they're regarded as girls bikes because they don't have 'crossbar'. More fool them.
I didn't have time for details, is this likely to be a 700c machine? If so, I might just use bits off the Scott to make an ancient/modern hybrid, as I don't suppose for an instant the bike has any vintage value.
Gears work. brakes ok, but the rims are so rusty it would file the blocks off. Amazing wide range 5-speed block. I'll go count the teeth later, but the low sprocket looks 36 or bigger.
