Peugeot PX10?

latest find. Quite a nice lightweight Peugeot in seemingly original condition - apart from seat, replacement purchased. Mavic rims and stainless spokes.
Not sure of age or model although Google picture search suggests PX10.
It was a free bike and after pumping tyres up seems to ride very well.

Nice bike BTW. I've never managed to find a nice old decent spec pug in my size, only ever carbolite pig iron hobbies, but even they ride nice IME.

Looks like my Vitus 172 Peugeot. I thought PX10 had a chrome part rear triangle ?
Fab bike for a freebie. Will look nice with Normandy large flange and weimann rims.

Yes we have the remains of a 531 decal above the gear shifters. It feels quite light and thats with the padded seat.

Without looking through the catalogue I would guess Med late 70s PR10?. This is based on Centre pull brakes, over bottom bracket gear cable routing, 531 main tubes.

My 1980 Pug is English threaded, the only oddity is the 7mm Allan key bolt on the quill stem and you can get these online for a quid, get two as, if you are like me, you will “misplace” one.

Well after a weekend of tinkering with the Peugeot I've come to the conclusion things are normally got rid of for a reason!
I got the bike up and running and it rode very well, but the seat was far too low.
This is where the problem started...., aluminium seat post stuck fast. I then noticed a small dent in the seat tube on the frame and think this is crushing the aluminium in the frame.
I am now going to remove all parts and put into stock for another project.
I have a nice Mercier frame which will now be the next project......

What are you going to do with frame and forks ?
