We have only been married 6 years, so still in the lovey dovey period. We got some professional pics done, but they are down the end of the hall in the flat next to graduation pics, and other memorable pics and things like that. So, they are not in full on display but are in the 'private area' of our flat. I think it would be a bit over the top if they were in the living room.

I went into a guy's flat and every tiny little inch of wall was plastered with pics of his son; every size (some were HUGE), some professional, some not... it felt a bit odd. It gave the impression that he was needing to gain approval from visitors as to how much he loved his son. I'm sure he DID love him, but the enormous display of it made it all seem like a show and a little bit 'put on' for the general spectator

You lot are so judgemental.
I have a life size picture of me above the mantelpiece wearing nothing but a packet of ready salted. I'm sure my ladywife finds it tasteful and possibly erotic.

It's up to the individual. I had three large photos done of my two sons as a birthday present for my wife with me in one of them. My brother in law called them w&*ky photos and we nearly come to blows. The irony of it is, that my sister's daughter (his step daughter) by her first marriage now has two kids and my brother in law has a myriad of similar w&*ky photos of his "grandchildren" all over the house but I'm too polite to point this out. I would never sink so low to say that the photos are smashing mainly because there's not one fluid ounce of his blood in either of them.

Out here wedding photos and the like are so 'touched up' that in some cases you can't even recognise who's in the photo. All the men have very black hair and not even one crease or line on their faces and even the most ordinary looking lady, when seen in the flesh, is absolutely stunning in the wedding photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

none of the wedding (although we have some wedding photographs that are lovely) but a few of the kids and one or two of the Babe that remind her of different times. And one of both of us from my mothers 70th birthday party, which was a splendid day.

Strange to say I've got a photograph of the house of an old girlfriend that's just hung around for ever and a day on a bookshelf. It might be that having a few photographs of times past put things in order, and provide a kind of framework for the present.
