Mickle is going to send me things for free. It's less effort than taking tubes back to the shop.

And don't for a minute pretend that there is trouble with "everyone being able to see that he's done something wrong". Scan older posts here by username Bonj for examples where someone is clearly unconcerned about being seen to be making public errors.

I never make public errors, so none will be able to be found on the forum. But when you're cycling around everyone will be looking at you and pointing and laughing, going 'haha, look at him - he's got the wrong tubes and has had to modify them in order to get a pump on !'

Och, sorry another public mistake of mine then. Anyway it will make a nice change from everyone looking at me and pointing and laughing, going 'haha, look at him - he's got a perfectly operational inner tube in but can't get any air in it, and so will be late for work again'.

Why would they be looking at the wheels?
Normal people tend to look at the rider of the bike, then laugh.

I always look at the wheels of a bike. It's a tell-tale sign. If you want to make an educated guess at how expensive a bike probably was: if it's a MTB look at the forks, if it's a road bike, look at the wheels. (Generally - there are obviously exceptions.)

What he does know about bikes, he can write down on the back of a postage stamp using a 6 inch paintbrush.

Getting beeped, on film, for turning right at a junction with a "No Entry" sign and a "No Right Turn" sign, RLJ'ing etc.

Don't think you can make a bigger public error than that.

I originally thought you were doing that as a pish take, now not so sure.

Getting beeped on film is one thing.

Putting it up on youtube, with a caption berating the beeper, I think that takes it to a higher level...
