Ping: dellzeqq... In praise of John Lewis (Wycombe)...

I used to go there when it first opened - the first 'buy and take' away furniture from John Lewis.
In the dim and distant past,(circa 1989) I was tempted by an antique pine octagonal double gate-legged table. On inspection, and note-taking, I dropped my fibre tip pen from my top pocket onto the surface of the centre section. Got the product reduced to £175 from an original price of £350 - because of the blossoming black mark in the centre of said table.
Can't remember the name of the manufacturer damn it!
Probably still being used...not by me alas.

Cheap old store nowadays Fab!

I was reminded of the ride when reading the thread about "excuses to stop when riding up a hill". For some reason, my phone "phantom rang" twice going up that hill!
