when is it I need to get some major miles under my feet

You'll be fine.

Don't listen to that nonsense about it being downhill on the way back.

It's 74% uphill in both directions and even what appears to be downhill is actually just flat and level ground.

A glance at long-range forecasts suggests serious headwinds in both directions for 67% of your riding time.

The good news is that unseasonally heavy rain and sleet will help you to forget about the hills and the headwinds.

Look out for potholes.

Good luck!

I've some "inside information" about the provisional route, and although it has yet to be confirmed, I can tell you it is mostly flat.
Except for the hilly bits that is.

What's unseasonable about heavy rain and sleet in July/ August?

It's going to be fun!

I've even come up with a basic plan: Do the prologue, get to Brampton, sleep. I'll fill in the rest of the plan when I get to Brampton
