I'm about to change my internet provider after BT increased my monthly payment after my 12 month contract came to an end. Plusnet have a decent offer online, but I don't know anyone who uses them. Unfortunately both Virgin and Sky don't cover my area so my options are bit limited.

Any feedback would be appreciated before I sign up this week.

I've been with Plusnet for about twelve years (Force9, who Plusnet bought, at the beginning). I'm entirely happy with the service, which is why I've not ever felt inclined to switch.

I've been with Plusnet for years. Never had any serious problems. When I have had to ring them up you get to talk to real people who are fairly sensible about sorting issues. I think the call centre is in Sheffield.

I've just signed up with them for a mobile contract.

You should have argued with BT when they increased your charges and they would have backed down. I do it every year when mine is due.

Don't BT own Plusnet?

Must admit that I'm thinking of moving away from BT - they've never been the cheapest, but I stuck with them for the reliability, (in over a decade I think we've been without an internet connection for less than half a day) until recently when it's starting to be problematic

Yes bt own most of plusnet but it is a stand alone company
Beware unless you change to virgin all suppliers use the openreach so if you have a fault on the line it will still be there after you switch

Been with Plusnet for about 4 years. Never had a problem. Calls are always answered by someone who knows what they are doing.
I would never go back to BT - not because of the service, but because of the complete lack of any working telephone support.
