At the moment the NO is romping away. If that is the view on a cycling forum it makes me think that someone is either organising them to make money, or there is an agenda to make cyclists look bad to the rest of the public. The second one is quite effective I think. What about the first?

To protest against the dominance of public space by motor traffic, and/or to reclaim that space for people for the course of the event, and/or to ride a bike and meet people, and/or to enjoy the reversal of the usual power dynamic on our roads. I believe the last is what people mean when they talk about "deliberately pissing motorists off". There's no need to thank me.
