Poll. Are critical mass rides helpfull to cycling in general?

At the moment the NO is romping away. If that is the view on a cycling forum it makes me think that someone is either organising them to make money, or there is an agenda to make cyclists look bad to the rest of the public. The second one is quite effective I think. What about the first?

To protest against the dominance of public space by motor traffic, and/or to reclaim that space for people for the course of the event, and/or to ride a bike and meet people, and/or to enjoy the reversal of the usual power dynamic on our roads. I believe the last is what people mean when they talk about "deliberately pissing motorists off". There's no need to thank me.

And, though I'm never likely to go on one, I would think that a couple of hours road inversion once a week is not an excessive percentage for those 6.

Try it, then have an opinion, if you've never been on one I can't see how you can pass judgement.

I did try one in Dublin and tbh I found it fustrating, then I looked around and saw the fustration on other road users faces and started to consider the bigger picture.
