Loch side.
It will flex easily but only in one direction. If the window is bubble-shaped it won't go.

Might be worth finding a local car trim upholstery workshop ?
They should be able to replace it within an hour at a reasonable price.

Have you any local signage companies ?
They use this kind of stuff all the time and may be happy to sell you an offcut if theres one big enough.

This reminds me of an amusing anecdote. My BiL used to have a camper van which he kept across the road on a car park. Anyhow the local scrotes lobbed a brick through the passenger window and nicked the radio. So he replaced the window with some plastic sheet while he got another from the scrappy. Emboldened by their raid, they lobbed another brick at the window, except this time it bounced back and hit one of the miscreants somewhere vulnerable. He knew this because he found the brick and a trail of blood from the car park.

Can't you contact a specialist who deals in replacement soft tops and ask them for advice? They must have come across this before.

Aye, they'll sort it....for £400, although that includes removal and refitting g kf the hood, which is a major piece of surgery on mine.

What's big moolah? Place on eBay will replace it for 65 including postage if you send the old one.

Alas, because it's a multi stage electric roof its several hours to remove, several more to replace, and an absolute mare to synchronise the 2 motors once refitted. I'm keen not to disturb the rest of it while it's working proper like.

Thanks for all the tips and ideas. Its sounds like 3mm will flex sufficiently, and with little force at 5mm across 900mm. I'm going to brace it from inside against the frame while the Sika cures, and hopefully that'll do it. I'll keep y'all posted.

On a windscreen claim? I have never had that on any of my policies.

You are extremely lucky then, the BBC even did a program about it, I deal with insurers as part of my business and know it happens.

Try a quick phone call to Segal Motor Trim in Manchester who will definitely have something suitable.
