I bought a second hand Pompino earlier this year and there is a bit of play in the front wheel bearing. I took it off intending to tighten up the cups and cones, to find that the bearing appears to be a cartridge bearing with no adjustment possible. I wonder if anyone can confirm this or if adjustment is possible, how is it done?

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure you need to replace the bearings. I believe they are quite cheap - ask your LBS.

I'd replace them - they are cheap. If still smooth, and there is play, you can tighten the locknut up slightly to pre-load the cartridge bearing !

My Pearson has cartridge bearings. When the play in them got a bit to much I put the wheels into Ride, just down the road from me, and they charged about £15 a cartridge.
