As the title says, what are your choices for pop songs of the decade?

And I don't mean obscure things that only you and your dog have heard of, but the best of what was actually popular.

Sure, most popular music is crap, but there were a lot of gems out there, so I will start off with two nominations that happen to have the word 'crazy' in the title:

Beyonce's Crazy in Love

You know what, she can actually sing and this song combines the best kind of use of her vocal talent, judicious sampling and original production to create a rump-shaking, uplifting slice of RnB juiciness. Even Jay-Z can't ruin it...

and Gnarls Barley's Crazy

My favourite single of the 2000s. Another past-meets-future meltdown. Big and clever pop soul, this doesn't get any worse no matter how many times it was (or is) played and the video may also be a contender for the best of the decade.

Love is all around you , wet wet wet.

I didnt like the song but it was a massive 2003 (I think) release and dominated the "pop" chars forever

I'll think harder abnd suggest my own personal fav later

Blimey jonny

Love Is All Around was from 1994 - did it keep going to '03????

One of my favourite mainstream pop songs was Kylies Can't get You Out Of My Head from '01 I think, an excellent return for her I think. (I quite liked some of her 90's indie stuff, I do say some)

Knickelback- this is how you remind me.

The tune just "caught" me somehow when it was released and I recall having it on repeat on my CD player (remember them kid's) for ages. It spawned the purchase of the album "silver side up" and a keen interest in the band and Kroeger's work ever since.

Where is the love, - Black eyed peas,
loved the approach of the band (no mention of hoes, violence, guns or drugs) and I still regard Will.I.am as one of the best lyricists of the decade

Eminem -Stan,
did the same as above for me, made me a massive fan (again I really love the lyrical skill and attitude) although "shady" talks of violence you need to listen to see that mostly its a parable of other rappers...Loved this release and really thought using Dido was a moment of genius (so soft and pure as apposed to Marshals voice). This went omn to make Dido a household name (not bad for a white rapper from detroit who everyone hated at the time)

What!? They re-released it??? ;)
That one stayed in the charts forever didn't it? I much preferred REM's cover of it.

Here's another - from the film Donnie Darko - Garry Jule's Mad World

Good call on Crazy in Love - the hook in particular is pop perfection.

Outkast - Hey Ya

(although not the official video but love this version ;) )

i loved it when it first came out then grew sick of this at the time because it was overplayed - every time i had on the radio it was on, every time i was in a bar or club it was on! - but after a break from hearing it for a while i heard it again recently and love it again.

Kylie Minogue - Can't Get you out of my head

lalalalalala

Destiny's Child - Independant Woman

This one grew on me. At first associated it with a really shoot film then i heard the 2 Many DJs mix of it which went into 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton and it sounded great without the reminder of Charlies Angels!

Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone

Probably the only song from reality music tv show that i've liked!
