Horses for courses and all that; but I have never understood the attraction of spending 2 weeks in Las Vegas. A strip of glitzy casinos and some Elvis impersonators in the middle of the desert. An hour or two, maybe. But a whole holiday?

At my age, the usual suspects of clubbing destinations in the Med hold no appeal either, and neither does Egypt. Pyramids; a river, and some beaches; yawwwwwn!

Any others I've forgotten?

I have no desire what so ever to go to Australia.

I have traveled through a heck of a lot of the US and Las Vegas was one of the worse places. Ok for a short visit, but for a long holiday, no way.

I have been (dragged) to the Maldives by Mrs Ian 3 times now.
I would be happy never to set foot there again.

I'm planning a trip to Vegas this September. A week of roadie and mtb riding on some great trails and roads. I doubt I'll ever see the strip, but because of the strip and casinos hotels can be dirt cheap.

Likewise a bunch of club Med locations are in beautiful areas that none of boozing tourists ever bother to go check out. Ibiza even, if you avoid the clubs is a great place.

I'd love to go down under... wouldn't mind popping through las vegas but have no interest in LA... I've got an aunt and uncle in India... they keep telling me to go over and stay with them, but I'm not too fussed to be honest. Everybody i know who's gone to India come back telling everybody "you must go to India".. and i don't want to turn in to one of them.

Saying all that... i had no interest in going to New York until a mate said "Dave, come and stay with us in New York!" so i went and i loved it... will definitely return if i get the opportunity again.

India has some appeal, even if it's only for the food.

The pits. Last time I was there you couldn't move for down and outs, and beggars. It pains me to admit it, but a large proportion of them were Scottish. The horrible smell of bad chips along the front is the icing on the cake.

Felt the same about LA, everyone saying how great it is blah blah blah.
But.. it actually is one of the greatest Cities on the planet.
The City, the beaches, the deserts, the canyons, the valleys, the Pacific Coast Highway.
And to top it all.. some fantastic cycling.
It really is an awesome place.

+1 for bl**dy Maldives (x2 times), Bali (x1) and the sort of so-called "barefoot luxury". Enough for a lifetime! xx(

I actually liked the Maldives, but then I'd snorkel over coral reefs every day given half a chance.
Beaches per se leave me cold. Dubai I don't fancy at all...
