No desire to go to Turkey or Florida. Wild horses could not get me to DisneyLand etc. Will never go on a cruise.

I have no desire to go to Turkey either. The only reason I would go to Florida would be to play golf in the winter. The tourist trap places do nothing for me anymore.

Everyone said the same thing - 'Oh, I thought I'd hate Disneyland, but when you actually go there it's wonderful'. Went there, hated it. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than go to Vegas. Same goes for places like Dubai. Really enjoyed Turkey, tho' only went to the touristy bit. Blackpool? That's funny.

Nah... Australia's just an island on steroids! Plus, it takes a ridiculously long time to get there and back. Not much of it is very inhabitable, either, unless you have the bush skills of one of our Aborigines, and the desire for the simple life.

victor, Australia is two islands as the residents of Hobart, Beauty Point, Launceston, etc. would tell you. I've seen a lot of Australia and would say the time taken to get there is well worth the effort. However if some pom's on the internet think otherwise just smile and say 'ignorance is bliss'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Another vote for Las Vagas. I flew over it one evening on the way to LA, just a strip of concrete and gaudy lights surrounded by a massive shanty town. No thanks.

Florida isn't much better.

Oops, it's so small I overlooked it!
Seriously, though, I really want to go there, because there's some fine cycling to be had; all those wonderful hills (sigh...). Perhaps one day, when the many hills in and around Melbourne start to bore me (although not likely to happen any time soon).

The pits. Last time I was there you couldn't move for down and outs, and beggars. It pains me to admit it, but a large proportion of them were Scottish. The horrible smell of bad chips along the front is the icing on the cake.

thats the bit i hate about northern england seaside towns. actually most seaside towns in the north. they could be great but a small proportion spoil the place

somebody said Wales but in the summer on the Lleyn peninsula it is great- gulf strem warmed waters, plenty of nice sandy beaches.

I wouldn't want to go anywhere "touristy" when we went to Tenerife before we were married and had sprogs we stayed just outside los cristianos . was great. no drunken tourists and we got to see a lot more of the island off the beaten track . same for Ibiza. 10 mins off the tourist trail and its lovely old country, with people who welcome you not shun you because you drunk inglese.

so for me- anywhere touristy is where i wouldn't want to go.

Popular holiday destinations that don't appeal to me...

Tenerife, Lanzergrotty and Tunisia. I've been to theses places, and nothing would ever get me there again. Places I have never been to and don't appeal are India, Pakistan, China amd Russia. I expect they have a lot to offer, I just ain't bothered.
