Couple of previous mentions...
Turkey, generally i'd agree.., Marmaris and Ishmeler, think Blackpool. Olu Deniz, i just didn't get it...BUT, Alanya, further up the coast towards Cyprus, marvelous. Not many brits there, huge town with varied shops (not blackpooly at all) lovely surrounding mountains with parks around lovely cool rivers, fabulous beaches, clear seas...one of the best holidays ive had.
Benidorm..i dreaded going there, but its clean, well kept, relaxed in the day...thoroughly enjoyed it. Busy mind.
Try Salou, not too far away on the spanish coast...dirty, filthy, smelly place.
Egypt ? i think of it on a small scale. Sharm is nothing special at all but the hotels private beaches are wonderful. Crystal clear water, corals of every colour, teeming with fish like youve never seen before, relaxed beach bars, they're like an oasis of loveliness.
Pyramids...a sh1thole. Such a shame that one of the wonders of the world (and quite rightly) have so poorly kept surroundings, its like a rubbish tip. Add to that the relentless aggro you'll get from beggars, guides and sellers..never again (and my visit was free)
