Used to live there, not anymore. People in Southern France are much nicer and don't have that vulgar posh.

Costa del Sol. Horrible place..........

I think you don't know the area that well. Travel inland a bit to Periana, still CDS but you find the real Spain in mountainous region, very nice and very Spanish with no kiss me quick hats or fish and chips.

Awesome video,thanks for posting.

Holidays each to their own without a doubt.

I discovered skiing 5 years ago and for me it has been the best holiday week of my year ever since. I just wish it wasnt so bloody expensive so I could go more than once a year

And yep very much like cycling, with the correct kit your not cold at all, usually come home with a better tan (well face anyway ) than I do from a summer break.

Ok I will clarify. Specifically rather than the whole of the Costa Del Sol region the costal developed area as you travel from Malaga towards Puerto Banus, with rows of rather boring gated Villas, cafes selling full english breakfasts seperated from some not very pleasant beaches by a fast coast road that is a scar on the landscape. It is a popular holiday destination and it doesn't appeal to me.
To be fair to the Costa Del Sol I have went to a few nice traditional towns in the mountains and eaten lovely authentic Spanish meals in great surroundings. Would I go back, maybe one day but in the short term, there are far more interesting places around the world that would attract me.

It's nothing to do with interesting
It's all to do with the cold.
Snow is cold - I don't like spending somewhere on holiday where it's cold.
And don't give me the spiel that it's warm in the mountains when skiing.
I've been skiing and just don't like it.

Skiing is one of those things that you're just not allowed to dislike, same with the Beatles or Mozart or Cats.

This last 4 months nearly all my work travel has taken me somewhere snowbound, Switzerland, Hungary, Russia, even N. France last week and Denmark which again yesterday was bloody snowing. I've had enough snow, I have no desire to waste hard earned money battling snow and cold. I love the mountains, they're beautiful in the summer when the skiers have long gone.

Had the misfortune to go to Turkey once maybe the wrong resort, Gumbet. We both have said never again.
Also Gran Canaria. Dreadful winter break!

Also Gran Canaria
Maybe a bit too general, and another case of wrong resort? Gran Canaria is quite a big island, and I had one of my best ever holidays there. The resort was Puerto Rico. Had we been in Playa del Ingles then it could well have been a different story. Similar situation with Rhodes. The town of Rhodes was a great place for a holiday; but not so far away you have the likes of Faliraki which is my idea of hell.

It's a bit like me having a bad experience in London, and writing off the whole of England as being similar.

True , as I said probably wrong resorts, the in-laws love Turkey!
We stayed at Puerto Rico, killed over 40 cockroaches in the first two days and got thumped in a bar by some drunken Scandanavian.
Funny how the little things can put you off.
Love Scotland though, spend a lot of short breaks in Edinburgh. Go camping around Dumfries and Galloway and Ayrshire. Because it isn't too long a trip for the dogs to get bored by.
