63-year-old Astra driver collides with 15-year-old boy on a bike. A driver and a woman performed CPR and used a van to shield the boy from traffic. Well done them, but a bit of a shame that their actions seem to have distracted the BBC from asking how the collision occurred.

I dislike intensely the media use of the phrase "knocked off his bike" when referring to such RTCs. The phrase diminishes the violence of the collision, making it sound like some minor playground fall instead. They never report pedestrians struck by cars as being knocked off their feet do they? It's right up there with "clipped". </rant>
