Further to my post about 'Western' names previously, it isn't well known, but Rocky is actually of Russian descent and worked for the Railways at the highest level during the Soviet era.

He saw what the Western Region in this country were doing here and mooted a plan for their own 'Westerns'.

Sadly the plan was shelved, but not before some nameplates were made...:

Incidentally, if you wonder what I am wittering on about, here is D1015 Western Champion (now preserved) at Plymouth, 1975, in the absolutely deplorable state they were allowed to get in too, but which weirdly just endeared them even more to the enthusiasts, like, no doubt, the boy in the picture!

years later.

Designed by Sir Misha Black, they were certainly striking looking, even when run down:
