MDB has been banned from flying to Japan since January after he was heard by a neighbour saying there is a nip in the air today.
Postman's real name is Enola, yes, that's right, he's actually called Enola Gay.

He has only recently been granted entry to Japan after a pretty vigorous, 20 year diplomatic campaign, which went right to the top in the Japanese Government

When he finally got to go, he landed at Haneda, took one look out the window and left again.

MDB started building his Bulwark to the West in 1945

This was TBT's. It was also known as class 50 number 41 (50041) and was named Bulwark (after HMS Bulwark).

Unfortunately, it crashed on the approach to Paddington with a sleeper on the night of 23rd of November 1983.
It was rebuilt, but was never really the same after that. Come to think of it, neither was TBT, who was driving.

This was it after it was picked up off it's side (like 50025 'Invincible' a few years later at West Ealing, it slid along on it's side for a distance) and re - railed:

Actually, that last post sounded better in my head than the 'Infodump' I've just performed

Actually, 50025's (West Ealing crash) 'Invincible' nameplate came up for auction recently and it was interesting to see, the amount of wear and damage on it, after being dragged along the rails for umpteen feet at a great rate of knots!

Despite it's name, 50025 was far from Invincible and was written off...

Glad to see Doug has got the thread on track with a full head of steam
Yeah, sorry.

Rockaay has a one track mind and is branching out into running guided tours of old railway lines.

He's just waiting for the signal to go!

MDB is a big fan of the Beeching Axe, at least I think that's what he meant when he started going on about his chopper with a lustful look in his eye.

Being a Toton (Toe - Tin or Toe - Ton) man all his days, Rockaay still gets emotional at the cull of the plucky little class 20s' which worked in pairs on the midland coal trains of the day.
He's never liked the class 60s' which replaced most of them.

He knows they were nicknamed 'Choppers' due to their whistling 'Chop chop' sound, but more rudely, because of their shape when seen from above...
