How about two entire rolls of aluminium turkey foil to block their fiendish radio signals and a grounding connection to a drain cover??? Worth a try!
If it's magnets, near field connectivity should still trip it!

That's why there has to be a maximum field strength. Might interfere with a car.

Don't know, don't care, but I'm sure some supermarket chap or chapess will have it all sorted out on the day so that they can relieve me of my money in the usual manner.
They don't relieve you though, you pay a £1 returnable deposit like when you use a locker in a sports centre , but not the Pool at Haven Filey where it's a quid each time you lock the farkin locker .

Looks like I won't be able to use my special little disc any more. Found it in a returned trolley several years ago, I keep it in the car just for shopping.......

I actually meant relieve me of money in exchange for foodstuffs:smile:.

You can spend a €1. Most coin operated machines accept them as a £1 coin.

IIRC

There was an issue with the security of Euro Coins

If you have a single mint then tolerances of the pressing process can be quite tight so the magnetic value, weight and shape are accurate

With the Euro being more widely produced there was a difference between mints

Hence the tolerances were lower, the production of forgeries easier and the issues of being used as other coins
