No, aluminium with loads of corrosion patches. I paid £50 for the complete bike so I was quite happy. I have a thread about it.

There was a short period of Alu use but...
Initially, they added Scandium to the Aluminium. Scandium has a very positive affect on how it behaves, welds and complies as a bicycle frame. However, after numerous samples were taken of the Alu and found that it had zero Scandium in it! So they dubbed it 'scamdium'.
A lot of the world's Scandium is in Russia and Ukraine.

I think I had one of those in Red and White in the late 1990’s I ride for a vets racing team called Trex based in Hull and we were given one of those on loan with the option you could buy it at the end of season, which I did. I had some decent results on it.

I loved the handling of that thing - I felt like I could chuck it down a hill any old how and it would behave itself.

I was dreaming if I thought I could reproduce that paint job. In fact, i'm beginning to think it was a limited edition because I cannot find it any where else.

I think a 2k lacquer is the answer to home resprays for the tough coat, but it's nasty stuff.

What is nasty about it?

I am thinking of a hand job respray on an old Harry Hall frame but don't want the soft finish of normal spray cans.

2K paint needs an activator which contains isocyanates and shouldn't be breathed in. Polyurethane paint contains isocyanates already in it so doesn't need an activator.
A doctor once told me that Isocyantes were more harmful,when heated, just when as a sprayer we would enter the spray booth during baking to see how the paint was drying.
