We are quick to complain - well I am anyway, but this time I want to praise Garmin.
I have a Garmin RCT715 device which is a camera, rear light and radar device. I have owned it for just over 2.5 years. It has stopped working as it won't take / hold a charge. Investigation showed the USB C charging port had become damaged. I have no doubt it was user caused damage - possibly using wrong cable or similar.
i contacted Garmin on Thursday morning via their chat line on the website, hoping to get a reconditioned unit offered by them at a decent price.. I told them the truth about the damage. I was asked to send pictures of it in the chat, which I did and was then told it was to be replaced under warranty!

Result!
It doesn't stop there. I was told to return the item to them thereafter they would give me a replacement. They sent me a UPS return label which I printed off, boxed up the device and sent it back that day as there is a UPS agent shop nearby.

Friday Garmin confirmed receipt of it and said they would be in touch about a replacement being sent out

I woke up this morning to a message from UPS saying they had a parcel to deliver today, which arrived at just after 0900 today. Said parcel was a brand new Garmin RCT715 device.

Brilliant service and brilliant timing for the return and delivery.

When my first Edge GPS failed just out of warranty, they said it was a common problem and covered it under warranty. My subsequent garmin failures haven't been covered but they've given me a good discount on a refurbished unit. When my 800 failed, which was entirely my fault (I hadn't tethered it and it fell off and got totally crushed by traffic), they replaced it with a refurbed 1000. And when my second 1000 failed with a collapsed power button, as the first had. When I asked for an upgrade to my current 1030 Ive had since circa 2019, they obliged. Its been a fast turnaround when I've needed a new unit too.

My Garmin 530 broke after I fumbled it taking it off my bars after a ride. It was a 3 foot drop ? I sent it back and they replaced it with a new one. Great service but I now have a silicone cover for the computer - just in case !

A while back my Instinct watch kept running out of battery really fast.

They said they could replace it with a refurbished one in the same colour grey but they were waiting for them to come into stock OR I could have a brand new tundra (fawn) coloured one straight away...

... the tundra looks great on my wrist!

Fantastic service from Garmin.
